College Preparatory School of America (CPSA) was founded in 1989 by the late Dr. Salim Abdul-Rahman , who began this noble endeavor from his apartment in Bridgeview, Illinois. Driven by a passion for education and a deep commitment to faith, Dr. Salim envisioned a school that would provide unparalleled education in a highly disciplined environment guided by the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him).

As the school quickly outgrew its temporary locations, CPSA established its permanent home in Lombard, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in 1991. This move marked the beginning of its journey as a premier institution dedicated to nurturing the next generation of American Muslim leaders.
